Multi-Site Data Networking — Malaga Manufacturer
Designed and installed a UniFi-based data backbone across three Malaga industrial buildings — fibre inter-building links, 96 ports of Cat6 and full VLAN segmentation.
Overview
A Malaga-based manufacturer outgrew their patchwork of Wi-Fi extenders and unmanaged switches. We designed a clean, single-vendor UniFi data network connecting three buildings on the same lot via outdoor armoured fibre, with structured Cat6 to every desk, machine controller and CCTV camera.
VLAN segmentation isolates production-line machine traffic from corporate office traffic and a guest Wi-Fi network — so a ransomware event on one segment can't take the factory floor offline. All switches and gateways report into a single UniFi controller for one-pane-of-glass network monitoring.
The new network gives the IT team usable dashboards, accurate cable labelling and a clear upgrade path. Production-floor uptime improved measurably in the first month post-cutover.
